The Dano "Femme Fatales"

killer magazine full of foxy femmes

Welcome to the Sad Monster Party, hosted by The Creep.
Inspired by the great outsiders of pop culture, The Creep
has invited some of the ultimate outcasts - classic movie
monsters. Always dedicated to looking at the darker side
of life, with this show The Creep hopes to draw connections
between his work and our own feelings of isolation and despair.
We have all felt, at some point, alienated from our world. This
exhibit aims to represent the feeling of being outcast and the
vices that "help" us along.
The Creep
has been painting images of death, zombies, monsters, and the
like for more than ten years. He is a self-taught artist who
resides in the Inland Empire and gets his inspiration from Southern
California car culture, horror movies, social anxiety, religious
hypocrisy, and alcoholism.

Stu Mead |
August 16 - August 31
2008 |

|
Opening Reception:
Sat, August 16th
8pm-midnight
Stu Mead was born in 1955 and earned a
B.F.A from Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Since then
Stu has garnered a wide cult following in the underground art
community, exhibiting his paintings in galleries across the world
for over twenty years, and currently residing in Berlin, Germany.
His artwork encompasses
a fantasy land of erotica where young women are incorporated
into bizarre scenarios that transcend fetish genres. His work
explores taboos with an equal mix of sexuality and comedy and
constantly pushes boundries in ways that other artists merely
hint upon. Stu Mead was featured in the legendary book "Apocalypse
Culture 2", published by Feral House in 2000
and the infamous French publisher, Le Dernier Cri, have
release several books of his artwork over the years.
This is Stu Mead's
first solo exhibit on U.S. soil in ten years and it celebrates
the release of his brand new limited edition print portfolio,
"Krampussy." Do not miss this rare opportunity
to see his artwork in person.
