Welcome to the odd world of Mexican Pulp comics: Weird, Bizarre, Violent, Sexual, Perverse, and Gruesome...with LOTS of Booty! These paintings are the original cover art from some of the strangest Mexican comic books we could find! These covers are mostly from the 90s. Similar to our 1950s pulp industry in the US, these books were made cheaply and meant to be thrown away after reading for a quick thrill. With hundreds of books coming out each week, unfortunately much of the art interior and cover art was simply disposed of. We’ve managed to find an amazing collection of this artwork, brilliantly illustrated and promising stories that mix film noir with soap operas and questionable bedroom practices.

Luis Borja is a Mexican cartoonist who started at the age of 17, working in the studio of Gabriel Vargas. He worked drawing storyboards in advertising and as an assistant cartoonist. From 1966 to 1994 he worked for the Mexican newspaper La Prensa doing the National Cartoon, political cartoon feature.
