- Harold Fox -

Harold Fox was a virtual unknown to the current gallery market when he did his first art exhibit
at Hyaena in early 2010. A retired commercial artist and trained illustrator, Harold proved that
he could easily hang alongside some of today's acknowledged Lowbrow masters.
Contemporary, narrative and edgy, his art is noir without pretense and at times both whimsical
and frightening, yet always compelling. Since that almost sold out exhibit, and on the heels
two more massively successful exhibits at Hyaena and the SCA Project Gallery in Pomona,
his artwork has been selling out at an incredible rate.

Imagine an artist figuratively locked away from the popular art world, silently painting the scenes
and stories he sees in his head entirely uninfluenced by genre trends. Now imagine that
the end product of that artist's efforts is a contemporary blend of Pulp and Noir Lowbrow with
a technical mastery and an unsurpassed purity of vision. Finally, imagine how fortunate you
would be if you were allowed even a glimpse into that artist's body of work. We are truly
honored to present the artwork of Harold Fox in this, his third solo showing at Hyaena.
