Cryptozoology - Group Art Exhibit - Growing up, the television programming of the 1970s and 1980s had a huge impact on me. My favorite TV shows were the sensational documentary style ones like That's Incredible, Real People, Ripley's Believe It or Not, and most importantly, In Search Of. Hearing Leonard Nimoy's calm, authoritative voice discuss the wonders and mysteries of the world was utterly enthralling and helped shape my formative years. The show introduced me to Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, alien encounters, cults, ESP, and a whole range of topics that I remain fascinated by to this day. If you follow our Instagram (hyaenagallery), I even do my own version of In Search Of every morning with posts tagged #destroytheday. Cryptozoology has fascinated folks for centuries. The idea that these creatures are living on the fringe, undetectable but leaving just enough evidence to keep us interested, is both fascinating and frightening. We figured it was about time to do a Lowbrow Art nod to all the weird, wacky cryptoid legends out there and we padded the whole thing with myths and made-up monsters just to keep things fun.
